From April 12th to April 17th, 2026, the ancient town of Otan Ayegbaju will once again become the heartbeat of Nigerian table tennis as it hosts the 6th Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial Table Tennis Tournament at the iconic Idera Multipurpose Hall.
Established in memory of the late Michael and Felicia Alabi, the tournament has evolved beyond a memorial competition into a powerful platform for discovering and nurturing future champions. Over the years, it has provided opportunities for emerging players to gain national recognition while also giving seasoned athletes a stage to reaffirm their dominance.
Now firmly established as one of Nigeria’s most prestigious grassroots-to-elite table tennis championships, the annual tournament continues to grow in scale, inclusivity, and national impact. The 2026 edition promises to be the biggest yet, featuring over 250 players drawn from all 36 states of Nigeria, making it a truly nationwide celebration of talent, resilience, and sporting excellence.
