President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday apologised to neighbouring countries affected by attacks launched during the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
Speaking in a televised address broadcast on Iranian state television, Pezeshkian expressed regret to neighbouring states that were impacted by Iranian strikes during the war.
“I apologise to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran,” the president said.
Despite the apology, Pezeshkian insisted that Iran would not bow to pressure from Israel or the United States, rejecting calls for the country’s unconditional surrender.
According to him, Iran’s adversaries should abandon any expectation that the Iranian people would capitulate.
“Our enemies must take their wish for the unconditional surrender of the Iranian people to their graves,” he declared.
Escalating Regional Conflict
The conflict escalated after Israel and the United States carried out coordinated strikes on Iran on February 28, targeting strategic sites.
The attacks reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and sparked a broader regional confrontation.
In retaliation, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets and on United States’ interests across parts of the Gulf region.
The situation has raised fears of a wider Middle East conflict, with tensions continuing to rise across the region.
