Six clubs have booked their spots in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals following Sunday’s fifth-round matches, with Southampton and Port Vale causing major upsets.
Southampton Stuns Fulham
Championship side Southampton secured a 1-0 victory over Premier League Fulham at Craven Cottage. The decisive moment came in the first minute of stoppage time when Finn Azaz was fouled by Joachim Andersen, earning a penalty which Ross Stewart converted.
Port Vale’s Historic Giant-Killing
League One strugglers Port Vale stunned Sunderland with a 1-0 win at Vale Park. Ben Waine’s 28th-minute goal proved enough to send the Valiants into the quarter-finals for the first time in 72 years, marking a historic achievement for the club.
Other Quarter-Finalists
From earlier fifth-round ties, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Liverpool had already advanced, defeating Mansfield Town, Wrexham, Newcastle United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers, respectively.
The remaining fifth-round matches will see Leeds United host Norwich City (16:30 GMT) and West Ham United face Brentford (Monday, 19:30 GMT).
