The Court of Appeal in Abuja is set to rule on the consolidated appeals arising from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national elective convention held on November 15 and 16, 2022.
A total of nine appeals have been filed, all challenging the validity of the Ibadan convention.
On Monday, party leaders from both factions were spotted at the court awaiting proceedings. One group was led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, while the other was led by Abdulrahman Mohammed.
Notably, Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary of the Mohammed-led committee, was seen exchanging pleasantries with Turaki, indicating a brief moment of cordiality despite the ongoing dispute.
The outcome of the judgment is expected to have major implications for the party’s leadership structure and preparations for upcoming elections.
More updates will follow as the court delivers its ruling.
