The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has stated that its leadership has not endorsed or anointed any candidate for elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party made this known on Monday in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, who described reports suggesting that certain candidates had already been endorsed as false and misleading.
According to the statement, no meeting has been held by the party leadership to decide on candidates for the National Assembly or State House of Assembly elections scheduled for 2027.
Call for Unity Within the Party
The Osun APC leadership warned members against spreading rumours or engaging in actions that could disrupt the current peace within the party, especially as the state approaches the upcoming governorship election.
The party urged its members and supporters to ignore what it described as misinformation aimed at destabilising the party.
Focus on Governorship Election
The party emphasised that its immediate priority is the victory of its governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, and his running mate, Benjamin Kayode Adereti.
According to the statement, party members should focus their efforts on ensuring victory in the August 15 governorship election.
Warning Against Internal Crisis
The APC leadership also cautioned members against promoting internal conflicts for personal political interests, describing such actions as harmful to the party’s collective goals.
Election Timetable
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled party primaries for the 2027 general elections between April 23 and May 30.
Political parties in Osun are currently putting measures in place to manage potential internal disputes and maintain unity ahead of the primaries and the governorship poll.
