Apapa Seaport
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 41 ships carrying petroleum products, food items and other commodities are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between March 10 and March 16.
The disclosure was made in the authority’s daily Shipping Position report released to journalists in Lagos on Tuesday.
According to the report, the vessels are scheduled to berth at Apapa Port, Tin Can Island Port and the Lekki Deep Sea Port.
The NPA explained that 17 of the incoming ships will carry containers loaded with different goods, while 24 vessels will deliver bulk cargo, including urea, crude oil, petrol, fresh fish, bitumen, crude palm oil and gypsum.
The authority also revealed that eight ships and tankers have already arrived at the ports but are currently waiting to berth. These vessels are loaded with petrol, general cargo, bulk urea, fertiliser and containers.
Meanwhile, 22 ships are presently offloading cargo at the ports, discharging items such as bulk wheat, general cargo, urea, salt, sugar, fresh fish, gypsum and containerised goods.
