The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has officially endorsed the 6th Edition of the Michael & Felicia Alabi Memorial Table Tennis Championship.
The endorsement came during a courtesy visit by the Chairman of Idera105.3FM Live, Mr. Ayo Alabi, who is also the major host of the event, alongside the event coordinator, Prince Aderotimi Adedire, who presented the invitation package to the governor.
Governor Adeleke warmly received the delegation and reiterated his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, grassroots sports development, and community engagement across Osun State.
The championship is scheduled to take place from April 12 to April 17, 2026, at the Idẹra Multipurpose Hall, Ogo Oluwa, Otàn Ayegbaju.
The tournament is expected to attract talented table tennis players from different locations, providing them with an opportunity to display their skills, sportsmanship, and passion for the sport.
Governor Adeleke’s endorsement has been described as a significant boost for the memorial tournament, which continues to celebrate the legacies of Michael and Felicia Alabi while also serving as a platform for youth engagement and talent development through sports.
Speaking after the visit, the Event Coordinator, Prince Aderotimi Adedire, expressed appreciation for the governor’s support and said the organisers look forward to welcoming athletes, sports enthusiasts, and members of the public to what promises to be an exciting and memorable edition of the championship.
With preparations underway, Otàn Ayegbaju is set to host thrilling table tennis action this April as players compete for honours in the annual memorial tournament.
