The Nigeria Police Force in Adamawa State has arrested two suspected kidnappers in connection with the abduction of a four-year-old boy in Numan Local Government Area.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje.
According to the statement, the father of the victim, Umar Ibrahim, reported the incident to the police on March 2, 2026.
He explained that his four-year-old son, identified as Ramadan, went out to play on March 1, 2026, but failed to return home. Efforts by family members to locate the child were initially unsuccessful.
The situation later escalated when the father received a phone call from an unknown number claiming responsibility for the abduction and demanding a ransom of ₦800,000 for the child’s release.
Police investigations led operatives attached to the Numan Division to arrest two suspects identified as Sadiq Ali (19) and Shitu Umar (23), both residents of Lamurde Local Government Area.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in what authorities described as an organised kidnapping operation.
The command has since directed its Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case for further investigation and necessary legal action.
The police also reassured residents of their commitment to protecting lives and property while urging members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
