Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have successfully repelled a terrorist attack on a military formation in Ngoshe, regaining full control of the position after launching a swift counter-offensive.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on March 11, 2026, by Sani Uba at the headquarters of the Joint Task Force.
According to the statement, terrorists attacked the military location on March 3, prompting the immediate deployment of reinforcement teams from the Forward Operating Base in Pulka and the 151 Battalion.
During the reinforcement mission, the lead Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which damaged two of its tyres. Despite the setback, the troops pressed on with the operation and continued their advance to the attacked location.
A special reinforcement team led by the Commander of the 26 Task Force Brigade, Nasirudeen Abdullahi, later arrived at the scene and coordinated a counter-attack that forced the insurgents to retreat.
During the firefight and subsequent pursuit of the fleeing terrorists, troops recovered three AK-47 rifles and a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) barrel.
The statement added that the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI also provided aerial support during the operation, successfully neutralising several terrorists.
After reoccupying the military position and conducting clearance operations in the surrounding area, Brigadier General Abdullahi commended the troops for their bravery and resilience.
He encouraged them to sustain aggressive operations aimed at dismantling terrorist elements still operating within the region.
Military authorities reaffirmed that troops under Operation HADIN KAI remain determined to deny terrorists freedom of action while continuing sustained operations to restore peace, security, and economic stability in the North-East.
