Senator-Oluremi-Tinubu
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is set to deliver a sermon at Lambeth Palace in London on Thursday as part of activities marking President Bola Tinubu’s official state visit to the United Kingdom.
Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, serves as a key centre of the Church of England. During her visit, the First Lady is also expected to engage with representatives of the church.
The trip represents Nigeria’s first state visit to the UK in nearly 40 years and is aimed at strengthening diplomatic and bilateral ties between both nations.
President Tinubu and his wife arrived in London on Tuesday via Stansted Airport ahead of a series of high-level engagements. These include meetings with King Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, alongside interactions with members of the Nigerian diaspora.
Known for her strong Christian faith, Mrs Tinubu is an ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God and has been actively involved in religious and women-focused initiatives in Nigeria.
