The organizing committee of the Michael & Felicia Alabi Memorial Table Tennis Championship has officially announced the appointment of Aderotimi Adedire Ijinle Oro as the Tournament Director for the 6th edition of the prestigious competition scheduled to take place from April 12 to April 16, 2026 in Otan Ayegbaju, Osun State, Nigeria.
The appointment was confirmed on Tuesday by the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation in conjunction with the host of the tournament, Mr. Ayodeji Alabi, as preparations intensify for what promises to be another exciting edition of one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing grassroots table tennis competitions.
Since its inception in 2021, the championship has grown remarkably, attracting over 250 players from across Nigeria each year. The annual tournament has become a major gathering point for emerging and established table tennis talents, offering a platform for competition, discovery, and community engagement in the sport.
As Tournament Director, Aderotimi Adedire Ijinle Oro will oversee all organizational and operational activities before and during the championship. His role will include coordinating logistics, supervising match schedules, ensuring adherence to competition standards, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver a successful event.
Speaking at his office today, the Tournament Director expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the championship. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in delivering a memorable event and called on sponsors and partners to come on board, noting that the championship offers significant visibility, brand exposure, and community engagement opportunities for organizations and individuals willing to support the initiative.
