U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could intensify its military campaign against Iran, even as Tehran insists it will never surrender in the ongoing war involving the U.S. and Israel.
Trump made the threat in a social media post, saying Iran would be “hit very hard” and suggesting that additional targets could soon be included in the bombing campaign.
The warning comes as the conflict—now in its second week—continues to escalate across the Middle East.
Iran Rejects Surrender
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a televised address that the Iranian people would never accept the unconditional surrender demanded by Washington.
He described the demand as unrealistic and insisted that Iran would continue to defend its sovereignty.
Despite the tough rhetoric, Pezeshkian also issued an apology to neighbouring Gulf countries affected by Iranian strikes and announced that Tehran would halt attacks on them unless they were used as launch points for attacks on Iran.
Intensifying Airstrikes
The latest exchange of threats comes after fresh waves of airstrikes carried out by U.S. and Israeli forces on Iranian targets. Reports indicate that some of the largest raids since the conflict began have hit military installations and infrastructure in Tehran, including areas around Mehrabad International Airport.
The war began after coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel on February 28, which reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and triggered a broader regional confrontation.
Growing Regional Impact
Since then, Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli territory and U.S.-aligned interests across the Gulf region.
The escalating violence has disrupted oil markets, aviation routes, and raised fears that the conflict could expand into a wider regional war involving multiple Middle Eastern countries.
