The Palace of the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland has officially confirmed the resignation of former senator, Felix Kola Ogunwale, from the traditional title of Asiwaju Ilu Iragbiji.
Senator Ogunwale conveyed his decision in a letter to the palace, stating his intention to relinquish the honorary position which was bestowed on him nearly three decades ago by the late Oba Timothy Adepoju Oyelade, the predecessor of the current Aragbiji.
In the letter dated March 3, 2026, and addressed to Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland, the former lawmaker formally excused himself from continuing in the role of Asiwaju of Iragbijiland.
Following the receipt of the correspondence, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero, accepted the resignation.
The monarch expressed gratitude to Senator Ogunwale for the service he rendered and for his contributions to the progress and development of Iragbijiland during the period he held the title.
The palace further reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening traditional leadership structures while continuing to promote initiatives aimed at fostering unity, growth, and prosperity within the Iragbiji community.
