Osun Lawmaker Rabiu Resigns from Accord Party

Hon. Adesina Atanda Rabiu, who represents Iwo State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, has officially resigned from the Accord Party with immediate effect.

The resignation was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Adewale Olumide Egbedun, where Rabiu expressed gratitude for the support and leadership he experienced during his time in the 8th Assembly.

In the letter, the lawmaker praised the Speaker, describing him as a distinguished leader with a strong vision and dedication to the progress of both the Assembly and the party.

Despite his appreciation, Rabiu stated that his decision to leave the Accord Party was based on personal reasons, which he chose not to disclose publicly.

“I hereby tender my resignation from the Accord Party, effective immediately. This decision is personal, and I’d like to keep the reasons to myself,” he wrote.

He also thanked the party for the opportunity to serve under its platform and wished the leadership continued success, while praying for wisdom and guidance for the Speaker in his role.

The development adds to ongoing political shifts within party structures at the state level, as stakeholders continue to reposition ahead of future political activities.
