Osun APC chieftain, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has expressed confidence that the party’s recent victory in Ekiti State will serve as a strong momentum for success in the forthcoming Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
A chieftain of the party in the state, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, made the declaration while speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday. He described Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election victory in Ekiti as a well-deserved achievement and a reflection of the people’s confidence in his administration.
According to Oyintiloye, the outcome of the Ekiti election demonstrated that unity, grassroots mobilisation, and commitment to good governance remain key factors in achieving electoral success.
“The Ekiti result has shown that when a party remains united, focused and committed to grassroots engagement, victory becomes inevitable,” he said.
He noted that Governor Oyebanji’s administration gained public support because of its focus on development, inclusiveness, and improving the welfare of residents. Oyintiloye added that the result had strengthened the confidence of APC members ahead of the Osun election.
The APC chieftain also commended the party’s National Working Committee, led by National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, for providing what he described as effective leadership that has strengthened the party across the country.
He urged APC members in Osun State to remain united and dedicated, stressing that teamwork would be essential to securing victory.
“Teamwork, dedication and collective responsibility are indispensable for electoral success,” Oyintiloye stated.
He also praised the efforts of former Osun State Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, for maintaining strong engagement with party members and stakeholders since the 2022 governorship election.
Speaking on the APC candidate in Osun, Bola Oyebamiji, Oyintiloye described him as “competent, experienced and people-oriented,” expressing optimism that voters would support him at the polls.
“The people of Ekiti have reaffirmed their belief in progressive governance. By the grace of God, the people of Osun will do the same on August 15 by electing Oyebamiji as the next governor of the state,” he said.
Oyintiloye concluded that the Ekiti victory had boosted the morale of APC supporters in Osun and insisted that the party was prepared to replicate the same success in the state.
