Iwo HoA Member Adesina Rabiu Makes Dramatic U-Turn

The political situation surrounding Hon. Adesina Atanda Rabiu, representing Iwo State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, has taken a new twist following fresh indications of a possible alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This comes shortly after the lawmaker dramatically reversed his resignation from the Accord Party, reaffirming loyalty to Governor Ademola Adeleke and calming tensions within the state’s political space.

Rabiu had initially tendered his resignation from the Accord Party, citing personal reasons. However, in a swift turnaround, he withdrew the decision within hours.

The reversal was publicly announced in a viral video featuring the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun, and the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.

His move was widely interpreted as a sign of renewed commitment to both the party and the Adeleke-led administration, temporarily easing political tensions.

Despite the reconciliation, fresh developments suggest underlying political realignments may still be in play.

Hon. Wole Oke, who represents Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, on Wednesday, shared a photo showing Rabiu alongside former Osun State Governor and current Minister of Marine and blue economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.

According to Oke, the meeting took place shortly after the APC South-West 2026 Zonal Congress in Lagos, where he formally introduced Rabiu to Oyetola.

The development has sparked speculation that the Iwo lawmaker may be exploring political ties with the APC, despite his public reaffirmation of loyalty to the Accord Party.
