Minister of Works, Dave Umahi
Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, stating that the President will continue to provide direction for the country and successfully complete ongoing projects.
Umahi made the remarks in Lagos during an inspection tour of major infrastructure projects, including the Carter Bridge, which is expected to undergo reconstruction. The Minister said the administration has the capacity to address Nigeria’s current challenges with determination and effective leadership.
According to Umahi, President Tinubu’s leadership is supported by divine guidance, which he believes will help the government navigate national difficulties.
“The same God that brought him is going to be there to solve all the problems,” Umahi said.
The Minister urged Nigerians to continue supporting the administration, particularly as the country faces security concerns and other pressing issues. He noted that every responsible government desires peace and stability but must be prepared to confront challenges when they arise.
“There is no leader who will not want his reign to be peaceful, but when crises come, the leader must confront them. That is exactly what we are doing,” he stated.
Umahi acknowledged the security challenges facing the nation and said that regardless of the circumstances surrounding them, he believes the President has the wisdom and strength required to address them.
He further expressed optimism that the Federal Government would complete the various projects it has started across the country, emphasizing the importance of continuity in national development.
“Your hands that have started this will complete it,” Umahi said, reaffirming his confidence in the President’s ability to deliver on his promises.
Speaking on infrastructure development, the Minister highlighted the planned reconstruction of the Carter Bridge in Lagos. He explained that the project forms part of the government’s long-term development strategy and is expected to be completed within three years.
“It is within our five-year plan,” Umahi added.
The Minister maintained that the administration remains committed to improving infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, and delivering projects that will contribute to economic growth.
As the government continues its development efforts, Umahi appealed for public cooperation, noting that collective support remains important in achieving lasting progress across the country.
