The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed a purported shortlist of candidates for medical examination currently circulating on social media, describing it as fake and unauthorized.
In a statement signed by the Commission’s Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC clarified that it has not released any shortlist for the next stage of the ongoing police recruitment exercise.
According to the Commission, the evaluation of candidates who participated in the written examination is still ongoing, and successful applicants will be formally notified once the process is completed.
The PSC stated that invitations for medical screening will only be sent through official channels, including email, SMS, the recruitment portal, and other verified communication platforms.
Reaffirming its commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, the Commission stressed that recruiting qualified personnel remains critical to the effectiveness and professionalism of the Nigeria Police Force.
The PSC also warned applicants and members of the public to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters who may attempt to exploit the recruitment exercise through fake information and misleading claims.
The Commission further reminded candidates that the recruitment process is completely free at all stages and urged them to disregard unofficial messages while awaiting formal communication directly from the PSC.
Applicants are therefore advised to rely only on verified PSC channels for updates regarding the recruitment exercise and the medical screening stage.
