Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has openly declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, insisting that four years is not enough for the President’s reforms to work.
The governor made the declaration on Wednesday at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to Adeleke, Nigerians must give President Tinubu more time to allow his economic reforms to materialize.
“We must give our father, the President of this nation, time for his reform to work. It’s not easy. Four years is not enough. That is why I’m here to throw my weight,” Adeleke said.
The governor, famously known as the dancing governor, could not hide his excitement, telling the crowd that victory was already in sight for 2027.
“Nobody can stop this movement. We’re going to sing, we’re going to dance all the way back to Aso Rock,” he added.
Adeleke, who currently governs Osun State under the Accord Party, has been named as Osun Coordinator for Tinubu’s 2027 campaign in a revised council list released on Tuesday. The list also includes FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, who will coordinate Rivers and the FCT, and Anambra Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.
He urged Nigerians to keep praying for their leaders, saying “If he succeeds, we all succeed.”
APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, described the gathering as a “rainbow coalition” of different political parties working for a common goal.
The APC campaign council, constituted on August 22, has President Tinubu as Chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima as Vice Chairman, former Zamfara Governor Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General, and Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma as Secretary.
The party will flag off its presidential campaign in Kaduna on October 24, ahead of the general election slated for January 16, 2027, by INEC.
