The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has confirmed the disbursement of student loans to beneficiaries at Osun State University and Kashim Ibrahim University for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, a total sum of ₦2,109,980,200 was paid out to support 7,382 students across the two institutions in multiple batches.
NELFUND revealed that UNIOSUN received the larger share of the funds, with ₦2,038,534,000 disbursed to 5,924 students in six batches. Meanwhile, KIU recorded ₦71,446,200 paid to 1,458 beneficiaries across two batches.
The fund described the disbursement as a significant step toward improving access to tertiary education in Nigeria. It reiterated its commitment to ensuring that financial challenges do not prevent qualified students from pursuing their academic goals.
NELFUND emphasised that the initiative is part of a broader effort to expand educational opportunities nationwide, particularly for students from low-income backgrounds.
